FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The 24th-ranked Arkansas tennis team goes after its third straight victory when the Razorbacks play host to No. 13 LSU Friday at 1 p.m. at the UA Outdoor Tennis Complex.
The Razorbacks won at No. 45 Auburn on Sunday, 5-2, and beat No. 53 Tulsa on Tuesday, 4-3, to improve to 13-6 overall.
The Tigers come in 13-4 overall and 5-4 in SEC play, but LSU dropped a 5-2 decision to No. 27 Tulane on Wednesday.
Arkansas is led by a pair of nationally ranked singles players in sophomore Adrians Zguns, No. 19, and senior Nathan Price, No. 83. Zguns won on Tuesday to improve to 30-8, becoming the first Razorback to win 30 matches in a season since Cha Hoon Im went 39-15 in 1990. Price could soon join him with a 28-10 singles mark.
Head coach Robert Cox’s lineup also includes Imraan Ismail at 17-12, Matt Roberts at 15-13, Rohan Gajjar at 14-13 and Matt Simpson at 9-11.
LSU is led by Ken Skupski, 22-10 and ranked No. 28, and Danny Bryan, who is 16-8.
The Tigers feature a pair of nationally ranked doubles teams in Bryan Fisher and Jason Hazley, 15-9 and ranked No. 26; and Sebastian Rutka and Cory Ross, 7-0 and ranked No. 41.
UA counters with the 45th-ranked doubles tandem of Price and Simpson (9-7) while Roberts and Ismail are 10-6.
Following the LSU match, Arkansas closes the regular season with home matches against South Carolina on April 16 and Florida on April 18.
