Razorback app ranks at iTunes

FAYETTEVILLE — The recently released iHog application was ranked 20th in the Apple iTunes App Store among free sports related downloads.

iHog was 20th today, based on number of recent downloads, and was the highest ranked single team application in the free side of the iTunes App Store.

The application, which allows users of iPhone and iTouch devices to directly download news and information from ArkansasRazorbacks.com without needing to open their browsers, was a critical hit as well ranking a 4+ stars.

Revolution Techonologies, LLC, reported that over 1,500 downloads were made in the first 24 hours, ranging from spots around the world.

The only other college team with an application ranked in the top 100 was the University of Tennessee, which was 100th.

The Razorbacks’ app stood ahead of a wave of individual apps recently released for NFL teams. iHog ranked 20th, with the Dallas Cowboys at 21st with the next highest ranked team-oriented application and Pittsburgh Steelers at 26th.

Among the applications ranking ahead of the Razorbacks’ iHog were CBS Sports Mobile, ESPN SportsCenter, Fox Sports Mobile, the PGA and MLB At-Bat Lite.
