Razorback Golf Team in 12th-Place After First Day of SEC Championship

St. Simon Island, Ga. – Arkansas’ men’s golf team shot a 308 team total on the first day of the Southeastern Conference Championship on Friday and sits in 12th place heading into Saturday’s second round.

The tournament is being played on Frederica Golf Club’s 7,331-yard par-72 course.

Razorback junior Andrew Landry is the top individual for the UA golfers, tied for 17th with a one-over-par 73. Other individual scores for Arkansas include Samuel Chavez and David Lingmerth tied for 49th with a 78, Will Osborne tied for 55th with a 79 and Jason Turner at 60th with an 83.

Alabama is the first-day leader with a three-under-par 285, followed by Georgia and Florida who are five shots back at 290. Defending conference champion, Tennessee, is in seventh place following an eight-over-par 296 on day one. Alabama’s Joseph Sykora is the individual leader after 18 holes of play with a four-under-par 68.

The tournament concludes with 18 holes on Saturday and Sunday. The Razorbacks are paired with Alabama and Florida for Saturday’s second round and tee off at 10:30 a.m.
