Razorback Golfers Finish Seventh at Oklahoma Intercollegiate

EDMOND, Okla. – The Arkansas golf team finished seventh at the Oklahoma Intercollegiate on Tuesday at the Oak Tree Golf Club with a 54-hole score of 923.

The Razorbacks shot a 29-over-par 311 Tuesday on the par-71, 7,412-yard layout. Tulsa captured the team title with a three-round score of 889 (+37), followed by Baylor (900, +48) in second, SMU 905 (+53) third and LSU (917, +65) fourth while host Oklahoma (919, +67) and Ohio State tied for fifth (919, +67).

The Hogs Andrew Landry, who led the way after the first round, shot a 5-over-par round of 76 in the final round to finish sixth with a 54-hole total of 10-over-par 223. He was four strokes off Tulsa’s Sam Korbe, who finished with a 6-over-par 219 to capture medalist honors.

Jason Turner turned in a 25th-place finish with a three-round total of 232 (+19) after firing a six-over-par 77 over the last 18 holes. True freshman Andrew Hopkins bounced back with a solid final round on Monday to finish tied for 35th place. He fired rounds of 79, 82 and 76 to post a 24-over-par 237.

Allen McFerran shot an 82 in the final round to finish tied for 37th with a 26-over-par score of 239. Jason Cuthbertson struggled through his final round with an 85 to finish 41st at 28-over-par 243.

The Razorbacks are off until Nov. 6-7 when they travel to San Martin, Calif., for the CordeValle Collegiate, hosted by UCLA at the CordeValle Country Club.
