Razorback Golfers Finish Tied for 13th at Hall of Fame Invitational

HUMBLE, Texas – The Arkansas men’s golf team finished in a tie for 13th place in the Hall of Fame Invitational on Sunday at the championship course at the Redstone Golf Course.

The 7,422-yard, par-72 layout proved challenging for the field of 17 teams that included seven top 25 teams.

Second-ranked Oklahoma State outlasted the field with a 16-over-par 880, including a 6-over-par 294 in Sunday’s final round. Arkansas finished with a tournament total of 65-over-par 929 to tied No. 10 Duke for 13th position.

Texas A&M finished second at 26-over-par 890 with Oklahoma and Texas tying for third place with a 54-hole total of 899. East Tennessee State finished fifth with a score of 37-over-par 901.

The Razorbacks top finisher was Eric Shriver who shot a 5-over-par 77 on Sunday to finish in a tie for 35th place at 13-over-par 229. Matt Bortis shot a 77 on Sunday to move into a 44th-place tie with a three-round total of 15-over-par 231.

Scotty Campbell shot the Hogs’ best round on Sunday with a 3-over-par 75 to move up seven spots in the standings to finish in a tie for 54th. Campbell was two shots behind Bortis with a 17-over-par 233 for the event.

Freshman Jordan Payne finished with a 54-hole total of 240 for a tie for 80th. Beau Glover finished in a tie for 88th with a 244.

Playing as an individual, Josh Farrell fired a 79 on Sunday to finish in a tie for 74th place.

The Razorbacks travel to Tucson, Ariz., for the NIT Invitational that begins on Sunday, March 26.
