Razorback Golfers Geared Up for 2005-06 Schedule

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The 2005-06 Arkansas golf schedule has been finalized and it is a challenging one the Razorbacks look forward to facing.

“I’m happy with the schedule we were able to put together,” Arkansas head coach Mike Ketcham said. “I feel like we have as good of a schedule as anyone in the country. I want a schedule that is nationally competitive each and every week, so our guys are ready when the SEC and NCAA Championships begin.”

Arkansas’ schedule was ranked as the 15th-most difficult last season by Golfweek and Coach Ketcham believes that this year’s schedule could be even tougher.

The fall campaign is comprised of four tournaments, three of which Ketcham is taking his team to for the first time. The new additions include the Tournament of Champions in Knoxville, Tenn., the Wolfpack Invitational in Reno, Nev., and the UCLA Invitational in San Jose, Calif.

The spring season opens with the traditional Taylor Made Intercollegiate in Kona, Hawaii. It will be the 15th-consecutive year an Arkansas team has competed in the tournament. The Hogs will travel to more familiar sites such as the Jim Hackler, Hall of Fame, and NIT Invitationals and the Morris Williams Intercollegiate. The Sun Devil Intercollegiate is making its first appearance on the rotation with competition set for April 6-8 in Tempe, Ariz.

The Southeastern Conference Championships are once again being held in Sea Island, Ga., on April 13-16. The NCAA Regionals are slated for May 17-20 with a site to be determined at a later date and the University of Portland will host the 2006 NCAA Championships in Sunriver, Ore., on May 31-June 3.
