Razorback Golfers Open Season at Del Walker Intercollegiate

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The Arkansas golf team opens its 2006-07 season on Thursday at the Del Walker Intercollegiate at the Virginia Country Club in Long Beach, Calif.

The 14-team field is hosted by Long Beach State at the 6,631-yard, par-71 Virginia Country Club. The event consists of two 18-hole rounds on Thursday followed by the third and final round on Friday. The teams are scheduled to tee off at 9:20 a.m. on Thursday and 9:10 a.m. on Friday.

Arkansas’ five-man team is led by senior Beau Glover, who will be making his 23rd career start for the Razorbacks. Joining Glover is two new Hogs, Andrew Landry (Lamar) and Jason Cuthbertson (Southern Miss) who transferred into the program this fall under the direction of new head coach Brad McMakin.

Jason Turner, who redshirted last season, enters his sophomore campaign teeing it up in the season’s first event along with junior Barrett Lais.

Coach McMakin’s former team, Lamar, captured the Del Walker Intercollegiate last season.
