Razorback Golfers Take Part in Border Olympics

LAREDO, Texas Arkansas men’s golf team continues its spring schedule this weekend at the Border Olympics at the par-72, 7,241-yard Laredo Country Club.

The 54-hole tournament consists of 36 holes on Friday with the final 18 scheduled for Saturday. The Razorbacks are among a 17-team field hosted by the University of Houston. Joining the Hogs and Cougars is Arkansas-Little Rock, Baylor, Lamar, Louisiana-Lafayette, Memphis, North Texas, Notre Dame, Rice, South Alabama, SMU, Texas-Arlington, Texas State, UTEP, Vanderbilt and Washington State.

Sophomore Andrew Landry leads the Razorbacks into the tournament with a 72.2-scoring average for the season, but he has been ever better this spring with a 69.2-stroke average.

Redshirt freshman Stephen Cox, a Jonesboro, Ark., native, makes his third straight appearance in the lineup. He boasts a 74.4-scoring average on the season. Freshman Frederic Colombo will also play for the Hogs, coming off of a career-best 66 in the final round of the Callaway Invitational last week.

Sophomore transfer Jason Cuthbertson makes his first appearance of the spring in the Arkansas’ lineup. He is averaging a 75.1, but has not played since the Oklahoma Intercollegiate last October. Redshirt freshman Dalton Owens will make his second straight start to round out the lineup.
