Razorback Golfers Tied for 14th after 36 Holes of Hall of Fame Invitational

HUMBLE, Texas – The Arkansas men’s golf team finished the second round of the Hall of Fame Invitational in 14th place at the Redstone Golf Course on Saturday with a two-round team score of 622.

Oklahoma State took over the tournament lead on Saturday with a 4-over-par round of 292 on the heels of a 294 in the first round. The second-ranked Cowboys (+10, 586) are seven shots ahead of second place team East Tennessee State and Texas (+17, 593). Oklahoma is in fourth place at 23-over-par 599.

The Hogs shot a 25-over-par round of 313 on Saturday after a 309 in the opening round on Friday. Eric Shriver fired an 8-over-par 80 to drop from a tie for third to a tie for 29th after 36 holes.

Oklahoma’s Anthony Kim leads the tournament at 8-under after a 3-under-par 69 in Saturday’s second round. Jhonatton Vegas from Texas holds onto the second place spot, tied with Jonathon Moore of Oklahoma State. Vegas shot a round of 73 while Moore carded a 70. Both golfers are sitting at even after the first two rounds of play.

Junior Matt Bortis fired the best round of the day for Arkansas with a 5-over-par 77. Bortis sits at 11-over par after two days of play. Bortis drops two spots and finishes the day in a tie for 44th.

Sophomore Scotty Campbell and freshman Jordan Payne carded identical 78’s on Saturday. They are 14-over-par for the tournament and tied for 61st place.

Junior Beau Glover fell off the pace in the second round with a 14-over-par round of 86. He is in 89th place after 36 holes of play.

Senior Josh Farrell, playing as an individual for the Razorbacks, finished with a 5-over-par 77 in the second round. He moves into a tie for 49th place after finishing tied for 89th on the first day of play.

The Razorbacks finish tournament play at 7:30 a.m. on Sunday morning.
