Razorback Netters to Play UMKC in Midweek Match

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The No. 41 Razorback tennis team will take a break from its non-conference schedule with a Wednesday match against UMKC at the George M. Billingsley Tennis Center. It will be the first meeting between the two schools. The match is set to begin at 1 p.m.

Arkansas (11-11, 3-7) is coming off a 4-3 win at Mississippi State in its last outing. The Razorbacks picked up the doubles point and wins by Matt Hogan, Chris Nott and Bradwin Williams to clinch the victory over the Bulldogs.

On the season, Nott leads the UA netters with 23 wins and the Razorback freshman has won four-straight matches. In doubles action, junior Blake Strode leads the squad with 18 victories. Strode is also ranked No. 99 in the nation in singles.

Winners of two of their last three matches, the Kangaroos are headed by freshman Serge Ristivojevic and sophomore Patrick Smith. Both players have spent time at the No. 1 singles position for UMKC (4-7, 2-2) this season. Ristivojevic is 3-3 at the top spot, while sophomore Dennis Schwarz leads the team with seven wins. In their last match, the Kangaroos dropped a 4-3 decision to Summit League foe, Western Illinois.

The Razorbacks will return to SEC action Saturday as they host No. 17 LSU in the regular-season finale. First serve is scheduled for 12 p.m. In the event of inclement weather, the match will be moved inside the Dills Indoor Stadium. Log on to www.hogwired.com for live stats and complete results.
