FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — Several current and former members of the University of Arkansas women’s golf team had successful days at amateur events around the country. Sophomore Regina Plasencia is tied for seventh after the second round at the 113th Women’s Western Golf Association Amateur in Dayton, Ohio, at the Dayton Country Club. Plasencia opened with a 75 Monday, paired with a 67 today for a 142. Junior Hally Leadbetter is tied for 13th overall and in the clubhouse with a 145. Leadbetter fired rounds of 78-67, with the 67 ranking as her career low. Former Razorback Corinna Rees is in the field and tied for 15th overall with a 146. Rees shot 72-74 in the first two rounds. Redshirt freshman Olivia Lavy is tied for 29th overall with a 149. Lavy shot 74-75 on the first two days. First round of match play begins at 8 a.m. Wednesday and continues through Saturday. Senior Emily Tubert took part in the Public Links event at Jimmie Austin OU Golf Club Course in Norman, Okla. The par 72, 6,351- yard course saw the Burbank, Calif., native shot a first day 77 and was tied for 70th overall. She added a 78 on Tuesday for a 155 and tied for 77th overall after two days of stroke play. Former Razorback Lucy Nunn opened with a 75 in the first round and matched that again today for a 150 and is tied for 41st overall. Nunn takes on Lacey Fears of Bonaire, Ga., at 10:45 a.m. Wednesday in match play action.
