BERKELEY, Calf. – An 11-3 run to close out the first half has brought the Razorbacks within 15, down 38-23 to Cal in the second round of the NIT.
Freshman Bobby Portis, whose season lows came against Cal in Maui, came out blazing for the Razorbacks, knocking down four shots to bring Arkansas their first eight points. Redshirt junior Alandise Harris closed the second half on a high note for Arkansas with a huge dunk, bringing his total to six points and four boards, leading the team along with four from Portis.
Arkansas began the half with a cold hand, shooting as low as 15 percent at one point, but was sparked by a baseline throwdown from senior Fred Gulley III worthy of the #SCTop10. THe propelled the Razorbacks to finish the half at 25 percent.
The #Fastest40 style of play made the trip to California, with Arkansas forcing nine Cal turnovers. The Razorbacks are outrebounding the Golden Bears on the offensive edge 7-1.
