AUSTIN, Texas – Razorback men’s tennis closed play at the Texas Invitational with two doubles and four singles wins on Sunday.
In the first portion of play, freshmen David Herrerias and Branch Terrell teamed up to defeat Texas’ Michael Riechmann and Adrian Ortiz-Ruiz 6-3. Then the Arkansas duo of senior Jovan Parlic and junior Santiago Munoz bettered Paul Cook and Mitchell Cook (Texas A&M- Corpus Christi) 6-2.
Herrerias, Parlic and Munoz collected singles wins as well. Fighting through three sets, Herrerias netted a 6-2, 4-6, 6-2 win over Nick Naumann of Texas. Parlic beat Guillaume Rauseo (Texas A&M-CC) 7-5, 7-6 (3), then Munoz bettered Texas A&M-CC’s Wilks Kothmann 6-0, 6-1. In the final Razorback win of the day, sophomore Juan Marino defeated Paul Cook of Texas A&M-CC 6-2, 6-1.
Arkansas opens home play on Jan. 16 when it hosts a doubleheader versus Mercer starting at 1 p.m. CT at the George M. Billingsley Tennis Center in Fayetteville, Arkansas. Admission is free and open to the public.
