@RazorbackMTEN Hosts Tulsa On Thursday

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The University of Arkansas men’s tennis team will host its first home match since Jan. 19, when it faces Tulsa at 5 p.m., CT at the Dills Indoor Tennis Center on Thursday.

Admission is free and open to the public. The match will take place on the indoor courts at the George M. Billingsley Tennis Center, located at 1503 Nettleship Street, Fayetteville, AR 72701. Free pizza will be available to fans as supplies lasts.

LAST TIME OUT:
Arkansas comes off of a tough 5-2 loss to Oklahoma State in Stillwater, Oklahoma on Sunday. With the defeat, the Razorbacks fell to 5-3 overall, while the Cowboys improved to 6-2.

Oklahoma State got momentum on its side early, winning the doubles point by taking the No. 1 and 3 spots. Playing in the No. 5 position, freshman David Herrerias claimed the first singles win of the day for Arkansas. Herrerias battled through three sets to better Jurence Mendoza 6-3, 3-6, 6-0. Picking up his first victory against a ranked opponent as a Razorback, junior Giammarco Micolani defeated No. 94 Jacob Sude 6-4, 7-6 (4), 10-8 in the No. 1 spot.

A LOOK AT TULSA (7-4):
The University of Tulsa men’s tennis team fell to No. 17 TCU, 4-0, Sunday afternoon at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center in Tulsa. The loss put the Golden Hurricane at 7-4 on the year and marked its third loss against an ITA top-20 opponent this season. Tulsa fell behind with losses from the No. 2 and No. 3 positions in doubles play, to give the visiting Horned Frogs the early 1-0 lead. With the momentum, TCU did not let up, taking points from the No. 1, 3, and 5 spots to earn the sweep.

Arkansas and Tulsa last met just over a year ago when the Golden Hurricane edged the Razorbacks 4-3 in at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center in Tulsa. Arkansas won the doubles point with two upset victories over ranked pairs and claimed two singles wins, but was unable to capture the win.

TENNIS BALL TOSS FOR CASH:
40 tennis balls will be labeled and distributed throughout campus on Thursday from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM and 10 tennis balls will be handed out at the match. Following the match, fans who have one of these tennis balls will have an opportunity to throw it into a trash can at center court to win $100 cash.
