ANNAPOLIS, Md. – The University of Arkansas men’s tennis team collected four wins on the first day of play at the Navy Invitational on Friday.
To start the day, Razorback duo of freshmen David Herrerias and Branch Terrell defeated Tyler Burnett and Audrey Majkic of the Navy 8-4.
In singles, three Arkansas players came away with wins in straight sets. Junior Juan Marino netted a 7-5, 7-5 victory against the Navy’s Blake Daniel. Next, Herrerias beat Burnett 6-2, 6-0 and Terrell bettered Majkic 6-4, 6-0.
Sophomore Johan den Toom pushed Calvin Mack of the Navy to three sets, but ultimately fell 6-4, 3-6, 7-5. The Razorbacks will be back in action Saturday morning when they face players from the University of Delaware.
