ANNAPOLIS, Md. – The University of Arkansas men’s tennis team won six of six matches on the second day of play at the Navy Invitational on Saturday.
The Razorbacks got off to a good start taking both doubles matches. First, Arkansas pair of sophomores Johan den Toom and Juan Marino defeated Delaware’s Mike Furr and Tyler Flenatti 8-3. Next, freshmen David Herrerias and Branch Terrell posted an 8-6 victory against Alex Sweet and Tim Puterio (Delaware).
Arkansas saw success in singles as well, winning all matches in straight sets. den Toom netted a 6-4, 6-4 win versus Furr and Marino beat Flenatti 6-1, 6-1. In the final victories of the day, Terrell bettered Colin Wong (Delaware) 6-0, 6-2 and Herrerias came out on top over Sweet 6-4, 6-4.
On Sunday, the Razorbacks will face players from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County in the last day of play at the Navy Invitational.
