Razorbacks Defend Title At Home

Final Results

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Back in the Randal Tyson Center for day two of the Razorback Invitational, the fifth-ranked Arkansas men’s track and field team put together an outstanding collaborative effort, defending it meet title with a final score of 99.5 points.

The Razorbacks finished over 14 points ahead of No. 14 Texas A&M and more than 27 points ahead of top-ranked Florida.

Top Finishers
Jack Bruce (mile), Kenzo Cotton (60) and Davon Anderson (60H) were the top finishers of the day each adding eight points to the team total with runner-up finishes in their respective events. Both Cotton and Anderson improved upon their seasons’ bests, Cotton now among the top-15 fastest in the NCAA and Anderson inside the top eight in the high hurdles.

All-time Best Lists Change Ups
Anderson’s 7.80 second in the hurdles moves the Ohio State transfer up to fourth-best performer in program history. British sprinter Roy Ejiakuekwu also worked his way up an event list, now in a tie with Jamaican Olympian Omar McLeod for the fourth-best time in the 60 with his 6.71.

Heptathetes Derek Jacobus (5,588 points) and Gabe Moore (5,512 points) climbed the combined-events ladder, overtaking former Arkansas greats Terry Prentice and Nathanael Franks in the record books to move up into the No. 4 and 5 slots, respectively. Jacobus and Moore currently rank as the seventh and ninth-best heptathlon performers, respectively, in the NCAA.

Additional Notable Performances
400: Obi Igbokwe placed fourth with the second-fastest time of his indoor career, 46.40.
800: Carlton Orange opened up with a one minute, 47.78 second 800, finishing third overall.
Mile: Ethan Moehn shaved a little under two seconds off his PR, clocking 4 minutes, 5.44 second to score four points for the Razorbacks.
3,000: Andrew Ronoh raced to a national top-15 performance with his time of 8:06.76 in his 2017 indoor debut for the Razorbacks.

What’s Next
The Razorbacks will break next week, returning to the track Feb. 10-11 for a pair of competitions in the Iowa State Classic and the Tyson Invitational.
