Razorbacks Drop Non-Conference Finale at ORU

TULSA, Okla. – Senior co-captain Danielle Harbin registered her ninth double-digit performance of the season with 17 kills in a road loss to Oral Roberts Tuesday evening. Fellow senior Savannah Voelzke added 11 kills, six digs and two aces with sophomore libero Okiana Valle picking up a match-high 15 digs. The Razorbacks begin SEC play Sunday afternoon with a road match at LSU.

Having dropped the first two sets, Arkansas (2-10) jumped out to a 7-3 lead in the third after a kill from Harbin. Oral Roberts (8-6) responded with a run of its own to take a 15-13 lead at the media timeout. With the score tied at 19-all, the home team pulled ahead to grab two match points at 24-22. In a back-and-forth finish in front of 1,272 fans at the Cooper Aerobics Center, the Razorbacks saved four match points and had a set point of its own before Oral Roberts secured the win.

Harbin has now reached double figures in four-consecutive outings and has five matches this season with double-digit kills coupled with a .300 or higher hitting percentage. She enters conference play just 46 kills shy of reaching 500 for her career. For Voelzke, Tuesday’s match represented her fourth double-digit showing of the year. Freshman setter Rachel Rippee had a match-high 39 assists against Oral Roberts.

Defensively, Valle tallied her fourth match of the season with at least 15 digs. At the net, Breana Jones and Ana Sofia Jusino each had four total blocks. With her third block of the night, Jones collected her 200th career stuff. Voelzke wasn’t far behind with three blocks of her own.
