Razorbacks Enter Top 15

TEMPE, Ariz. – Fresh off a weekend sweep of LSU and then-No. 17 Texas A&M, the Arkansas women’s tennis team moved up to No. 15 in the latest edition of the Oracle/ITA Collegiate Tennis National Team Rankings released Tuesday.

It’s the program’s highest ranking since No. 15 on March 29, 2011.

Arkansas (12-2, 3-0 Southeastern Conference) defeated the Tigers 5-2 on Friday and scored a commanding 6-1 win against the Aggies on Sunday to extend its win streak to nine matches.

The SEC leads the nation with 10 teams ranked among the top 25. Joining Arkansas in the top 25 are No. 1 Florida, No. 5 Auburn, No. 6 Georgia, No. 10 Vanderbilt, No. 14 Kentucky, No. 19 Tennessee, No. 21 South Carolina, No. 22 Texas A&M and No. 25 Ole Miss.

The Razorbacks will get a chance to improve on their national ranking this weekend when they head to Mississippi to face No. 25 Ole Miss at 1 p.m. on Friday in Oxford and Mississippi State at 1 p.m. on Sunday in Starkville.
