” We couldn’t qualify because of the weather and there just wasn’t any competition,” Arkansas head coach John McDonnell said. “Eddie (Jackson) ran a good time in the 110-meter hurdles, but the weather was disappointing.”
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – A cold and rainy day prevented the Arkansas 4×400-meter relay from qualifying at the Razorback Twilight Invitational on Friday night.
The 4×400-meter relay team finished first with a time of 3:11.54. Bacone, the second place team, finished 23 seconds behind Arkansas. Sophomore Josh Landreth led the first leg of the relay with a 48.30 split. Landreth handed off to senior Sam Glover ran who ran a split time of 46.80. Freshman James Hatch took the next leg and finished with a 48.70 split. Sophomore Robbie Stevens ran the anchor leg in a time of 47.26.
In the 110-meter hurdles junior Eddie Jackson finished first with a time of 13.93. Junior Chad Grundy and sophomore Kyle Cleveland competed in the 800-meter run. Cleveland finished second with a time of 1:54.29, while Grundy finished fifth with a time of 1:55.16.
Three Razorbacks competed in the field events. Freshman Jonathan Reeves finished first in the discus with a throw of 156-6.00 and freshman Matt Rosebery finished first with a season-best clearance of 6-9.00 in the high jump. Junior Josh Roberts competed in the pole vault and cleared a season-best 16-2.00 as he finished first.
The Hogs will now prepare for the Southeastern Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships on May 9-12 in Starkville, Miss.
