Eugene, Ore. – The 21st-ranked Arkansas men’s golf team came up short of the match play cut line Monday afternoon, finishing 12th in the country at the NCAA Championship at Eugene Country Club.

Playing in its fifth NCAA National Championship in the last eight years, Arkansas entered Monday’s fourth round in sixth place, but a final round 298 sent the Razorbacks to a tournament score of 282-284-289-298 – 1153 (+33). Arkansas missed the cut line by nine shots in its quest to return to match for the second time since the format was introduced in 2009.

The Razorbacks will say goodbye to a trio of seniors that had stellar collegiate careers, as Taylor Moore, Nicolas Echavarria and Kolton Crawford combined to play 137 tournaments and 401 rounds at Arkansas.

“I’m obviously really disappointed we didn’t make the final eight, but I couldn’t be more proud of these guys,” head coach Brad McMakin said. “Coming down the stretch we knew it was out of reach and I just wanted to cherish every moment I could with these seniors. I’ve been through a lot with these guys and they are like family. I’ll certainly miss this group.”

Arkansas got a birdie on the opening hole of the day from Charles Kim, and three of the five players birdied the par five fourth hole, but the Razorbacks shot 12-over the next three holes to fall below the cut line. Five birdies on the final two holes of the front nine put Arkansas to within one shot of the final eight, but seven double bogeys on the day proved to be the difference as the Razorbacks saw their season come to an end.

Moore capped his collegiate career with a 2-over 72 to finish as the low man for the 48th time as a Razorback at T-26th overall. He birdied two of his final three holes in the championship. Kim (T-40th), Crawford (T-51st), Echavarria (T-60th) and Alvaro Ortiz (T-71st) rounded out the team.

The Razorbacks end the 2015-16 season with a head-to-head record of 119-59-6, including a spring mark of 99-35-4.
