Razorbacks Heading To Stillwater For NCAA Tournament

NCAA Tournament Bracket

INDIANAPOLIS – The No. 19 Arkansas women’s tennis team secured the program’s 15th NCAA team tournament bid Tuesday, and will head to the Oklahoma State Regional in Stillwater, Oklahoma, for the third straight year.

“We’re excited to be selected to the NCAA tournament,” head coach Michael Hegarty said. “This has been a season full of growth for our team and we aim to continue in that same vein during tournament play.”

The No. 2 seed Razorbacks (17-9) will play No. 3 seed Wichita State (18-8) in the first round on May 13 at the Michael and Anne Greenwood Tennis Center at a time to be determined. The Razorbacks defeated the Shockers 4-0 in Fayetteville, Arkansas, earlier this season on Feb. 20.

The winner between Arkansas and Wichita State will advance to face the winner between host and No. 9 overall seed Oklahoma State (22-5) and UMKC (13-9) in the second round on May 14 for a chance to earn a spot in the round of 16 in Athens, Georgia.

“This is an outstanding regional featuring two excellent conference champs and two at-large teams that are well tested from two great conferences,” Hegarty said.

Arkansas has reached the NCAA team tournament nine times under Hegarty.
