Razorbacks Keep Pace In Classroom

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — Razorback student-athletes continued to perform in the classroom by combining to record a cumulative 3.23 GPA following the Fall 2016 semester.

This marks the 14th consecutive semester with student-athlete cumulative GPAs over 3.0 and the fifth consecutive semester with cumulative GPAs above 3.20.

Sixteen Razorback sport programs out of 19 earned a term and cumulative GPA exceeding 3.0, reaching a similar mark set during the Fall 2015 semester.

Women’s cross country led the way for all women’s sports by posting a 3.54 Fall 2016 term GPA. Golf was the top men’s program for the term with a 3.55 GPA.

Women’s cross country and swimming and diving would share the title for highest Fall 2016 cumulative GPA for women’s sports, while golf would also collect similar accolades for men’s sports after earning a 3.47 GPA.

A total of 285 Razorbacks, or 62 percent of all student-athletes, earned a spot on the athletic department honor roll after recording a term GPA at or above a 3.0.

Out of that amount, 57 student-athletes earned a perfect 4.0 GPA for the term, 103 attained GPAs between a 3.5 and 3.99 and 57 Razorbacks would achieve perfect 4.0 GPAs.

Arkansas also posted a school record Graduation Success Rate (GSR) of 78 percent in 2016.
