Razorbacks On Quest For Doubles Title
LAWRENCE, Kan. – Arkansas’ No. 9 ranked duo of senior Leolia Jeanjean and sophomore Giulia Pairone will compete for a doubles title Monday at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Central Regional Championships on Kansas University’s campus.
Jeanjean and Pairone, the tournament’s No. 1 seed, won a hard-fought semifinal match, 6-2, 4-6, 10-2, against Kansas’ Tatiana Nikolaeva and Despoina Vogasari on Sunday. The Razorback tandem will play Oklahoma State’s No. 2 seed Vladica Babic and Sofia Blanco in the championship match at 10 a.m. CT Monday.
“We are very proud of all our players for their efforts so far here in Lawrence,” head coach Michael Hegarty said. “To have Leolia and Giulia represent us in the championship tomorrow is exciting for us and another building block in the early part of this season.”
