Razorbacks Perfect at Missouri Southern Stampe
JOPLIN, Mo. – The University of Arkansas men’s cross country team finished perfect for the second week in a row at the Missouri Southern Invitational in Joplin, Mo., on Saturday morning. The Razorbacks won with the top five finishers in the race.

“I was pleased,” UA head coach John McDonnell said. “We had some guys finish strongly that we needed. The team’s running is becoming a little more promising. We won pretty convincingly. ”

The Razorbacks were once again led by James Karanu (24:23.5) with Sharif Karie finishing in second (24:34.9). Daniel Lincoln was third (24:40.9). Fourth went to Murray Link (25:03.9) with Ryan Joseph finishing fifth (25:04.6)

“James really ran great,” McDonnell said. “He showed why he is good. When he made his move he really took off. Sharif (Karie) ran well, and Daniel (Lincoln) ran really good. Murray Link is not quite there, but he is getting there. This was a good run for Ryan Joseph. Thompson and Dunleavy are a little behind in their conditioning but they know that. They showed a lot of toughness in the end. Hopefully, we will eventually have eight or nine guys competing for the top spots. That is what we need to be successful.”

The Razorbacks do not compete next weekend but return to action on Sept. 30 at the Cowboy Jamboree in Stillwater, Okla.
