FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The University of Arkansas golf squad plays in its final golf tournament of the year this weekend at The Maxwell played at Dornick Hills Country Club in Ardmore, Okla., May 12-13. The Hogs will play in their 12th tournament this season after missing out on an invitation for the NCAA Championships for the second year in a row.
UA senior Craig Lile, who received an invitation to compete in the 2001 NCAA Championships as an individual, will look to lead the Hogs in their 12th tournament of the season. The two-time All-Southeastern Conference first teamer has led the Razorbacks in every tournament this season and has claimed three tournament titles this year.
Other Hogs competing in The Maxwell include junior Ryan Blagg, sophomore Beau Galyean, sophomore Drew Higginbothom and redshirt freshman Adam Wing.
Teams competing in The Maxwell are Auburn, Colorado, Houston, Louisiana-Lafayette, North Texas, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Pepperdine, Southern California, SMU, Texas, Texas A&M, Toledo and Tulsa.
The Maxwell consists of the first two rounds on Saturday with the final round being played on Sunday.
Lile will play in the South Regional of the 2001 NCAA Championships, May 17-19, at Karsten Creek Golf Club in Stillwater, Okla.
