Razorbacks' Postseason Run Starts At Home

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The 10th-ranked Arkansas women’s cross country team begins its quest for postseason excellence on Friday, Oct. 28 at Agri Park as the hosts of the 2016 Southeastern Conference Cross Country Championship.

Arkansas currently leads the SEC in cross country titles, boasting 16 since joining the conference in 1991.

The Razorbacks will look to continue their streak of conference dominance and claim their eighth-consecutive SEC championship victory (inclusive of indoor and outdoor track and field) with a triumph at home tomorrow.

Fresh off a solid fifth-place finish at the Pre-National Invitational the Razorbacks enter championship season as the highest-ranked SEC team in tomorrow’s competition.

Along with Arkansas, Ole Miss and Mississippi State have also emerged as teams to watch landing at No. 16 and No. 29 in the latest national standings, respectively.

Meet Info
The championship will begin at 10 a.m. CT with the women’s 6K race. The men’s 8K race will follow at 11 a.m. after which an awards ceremony will be help for the top individual performers and team champions.

Live results will be available for the meet through flash results. Additional information regarding the meet including championship history, course maps and local restaurants can be found at the SEC Cross Country Championship central. Fans are encouraged to engage in the event on social media using the hash tag #SECXC.

The championship meet will also be available to watch on the SEC Network on Sunday, Nov. 6 at 10 a.m. CT.

Admission is free to fans of all ages.
