Razorbacks Ready For Monday Doubleheader
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Riding a three-match win streak, the Arkansas women’s tennis team returns home Monday to host non-conference foes Wichita State and Cornell.

The Series
The Razorbacks hold a 19-1 advantage over Wichita State in the all-time series, dating back to the 1980-81 season. Arkansas won last year’s meeting against the Shockers in Fayetteville by a score of 4-3. This will be the first ever match between Arkansas and Cornell.
Last Time Out
Arkansas (6-2) earned its third straight win and second consecutive road victory on Friday at Purdue, 6-1. The Razorbacks took two doubles matches and carried its momentum into singles action, winning first sets on all six courts and turning five of those leads into victories. Arkansas reeled off three straight victories at the No. 4, 5 and 6 spots, respectively, including the match-clinching win by freshman Giulia Pairone at No. 6. The Razorbacks went on to earn wins at the top two positions to close out the team victory.
Wichita State fell to Kansas 5-2 at home on Friday. Cornell is coming off a split at the ECAC Indoor Championships, falling to host Harvard 4-3 on Feb. 11, before beating Princeton 4-2 on Feb. 12.
Ranked Razorbacks
Senior co-captain Shannon Hudson and sophomore Ana Oparenovic each earned spots in the Oracle/ITA Collegiate Tennis Division I Women’s National Singles Rankings on Feb. 8. Hudson surged 51 spots to a career-best No. 47, while Oparenovic entered the rankings for the first time this spring at tied for No. 103. Hudson owns a 10-4 overall singles record with a 5-2 mark in dual match play this season, while Oparenovic is 9-4 overall and 3-1 in dual matches.
Leading The Way
Natsuho Arakawa owns a team-best 15-4 overall record, including a 7-1 mark this spring. The freshman standout is also 9-1 in her last 10 matches dating back to the fall.
Up Next
Following Monday’s doubleheader, the Razorbacks will host Illinois on Friday. First serve is scheduled for 6 p.m.
