FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The No. 3 Arkansas women’s track and field will kick off their 2016 outdoor season at John McDonnell Field with the Arkansas Spring Invitational on March 25-26. Following a two-week break from competition, the Razorbacks are ready to take on talented programs from across the country including: Illinois State, Missouri, Missouri State, Ole Miss, No. 24 Oklahoma State, South Dakota State, Southeast Missouri, Southern Illinois-Edwardsville, Tulsa and Wichita State.
Top ranked National Junior College Athletic Association programs Arkansas Baptist, Barton Community College and Iowa Central will also be a part of the field.
The Arkansas Spring Invitational is the first of three home outdoor meets this spring in Fayetteville. The Razorbacks will also host the John McDonnell Invitational (April 22-23) and Arkansas Twilight (May 6).
The two-day meet will begin Friday, March 25 at 3 p.m. with the heptathlon followed by the decathlon. Saturday’s action will also kick off with the combined events at 10:30 a.m. with prime time action beginning with the 3,000-meter steeplechase at 3 p.m.
