Razorbacks Receive Academic Honors

TEMPE, Ariz. – Another successful year in the classroom led the Arkansas women’s tennis program to team and individual academic honors from the Intercollegiate Tennis Association for the 2015-16 season, it was announced Thursday.

The Razorbacks posted a 3.27 GPA during the 2015-16 academic year, earning the All-Academic Team award for the second straight season. The award is open to any team with a cumulative GPA of 3.20 or higher on a 4.0 scale.

Individually, recent graduates Flavia Araujo, Makenzie Craft and Nicole Breaux, as well as rising junior Peyton Jennings and rising sophomore Shwetha Prabakar were each named ITA Scholar-Athletes. To qualify, one must hold a GPA of 3.50 for the year, be a varsity letterwinner and have been enrolled at least two semesters at their present school.

On the court, Arkansas captured the program’s 14th NCAA Team Championship bid and finished the season 16-14 overall. The Razorbacks’ team season featured victories over seven teams in the final ITA national rankings, including No. 30 Wichita State, No. 12 Auburn and No. 19 Texas A&M.
