Razorbacks Recognized For Scholastic Efforts

NEW ORLEANS – Undefeated in Southeastern Conference competition since May 2014, the Arkansas women’s track and field team is also one of the most academically sound programs in the league.

The Razorbacks received USTFCCCA All-Academic Team honors in recognition of their cumulative team grade-point average of 3.30. Arkansas’ team GPA ranks the Hogs sixth in the SEC behind Missouri (3.49), Vanderbilt (3.47), South Carolina (3.42), Alabama (3.37) and Georgia (3.32). Two-hundred and eighteen total schools received the USTFCCCA All-Academic distinction.

All-Academic Individuals
Fourteen Razorbacks were selected to the USTFCCCA Individual All-Academic Team including All-Americans Jada Baylark, Taliyah Brooks, Leigha Brown, Devin Clark, Nikki Hiltz, Payton Stumbaugh, Lexi Weeks, Tori Weeks and Taylor Werner.

Lexi and Tori Weeks as well as Werner headlined Arkansas’ selections, all managing to attain 4.00 GPAs, while balancing a rigorous training and competition schedule. Werner most recently won a gold medal for the United States junior team at the 2017 PanAm Junior Championships in Trujillo, Peru last weekend. She was the top finisher in the 3,000-meter run.
