Razorbacks Set To Face No. 15 Oklahoma State

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Continuing its homestand, the Arkansas women’s tennis team welcomes No. 15 Oklahoma State to Dills Indoor Courts on Friday. First serve is slated for 5 p.m.

“We are looking forward to a great match with Oklahoma State,” Arkansas women’s tennis head coach Michael Hegarty said. “They are having a fantastic season. So it’s a great opportunity for us at home.”

Oklahoma State comes in at 7-2 after going 1-3 at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) National Team Indoor Championship in Madison, Wisconsin, last weekend. The Cowgirls have been ranked in the top 15 every week so far this season and hold a 5-2 mark against ranked opponents.

Individually, all three Cowgirl doubles teams are represented in the Oracle/ITA rankings with Kelsey Laurente and Maria Alvarez at No. 17, Katarina Adamovic and Vladica Babic at No. 29, and Carla Tur Mari and Viktoriya Lushkova at No. 30. In the singles rankings, Admovic, Babic and Lushkova check in at No. 28, No. 33 and No. 45, respectively.

Friday’s match will be the 16th meeting between the two schools. Oklahoma State won last year’s match 5-0 in Stillwater, Oklahoma, and holds a 12-3 advantage in the all-time series.

The Razorbacks are 4-3 on the season, coming off a loss to Tulsa at home last Friday. Leading the way in singles is freshman Ana Oparenovic who is 5-2 in dual matches and 11-5 overall. Oparenovic and her doubles partner sophomore Mia Jurasic will look to continue their solid season as a pair. The duo is 5-2 in dual matches, 9-4 overall and has won eight of their last ten.

Live scoring for the match will be available here.

The first 100 fans in attendance will receive an Arkansas women’s tennis T-shirt. There will also be free pizza, popcorn, Keurig hot chocolate and coffee, and Pepsi products. In addition, fans will have the opportunity to enter a drawing for two tickets to the men’s basketball game on Wednesday, Feb. 17 at 6 p.m., when Arkansas faces SEC rival Auburn.

Following Friday’s match, the Razorbacks will remain home to host Old Dominion on Feb. 19 at 11 a.m.
