Razorbacks Sign Offensive Lineman

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Arkansas head coach Bret Bielema announced Monday that three-star offensive lineman Josh Allen (@joshallen55) has signed a financial aid agreement.

A native of Jacksonville, Florida, Allen checks in as the No. 22 offensive guard in the nation and No. 67 recruit in Florida, according to Rivals.com.

A 2014 graduate of University Christian School, Allen selected the Razorbacks over offers from Florida State, Georgia Tech and Mississippi State.

“We can’t wait to see what Josh is going to bring to our program immediately,” said Bielema. “Josh’s fierce mentality and physicality will add to our offensive line and I’m excited to see how he will elevate that group. Josh’s talents coupled with his determination and work ethic embody all of the characteristics we look for in future Razorbacks on and off the field.”

According to Rivals.com, Arkansas’ 2015 signing class ranks No. 23 in the nation. Allen joins quarterback Ty Storey (@tystorey4), offensive lineman Zach Rogers (@HebronHawks75), defensive end Daytrieon Dean (@_dwoop), defensive lineman Hjalte Froholdt (@Y3llur), defensive lineman Jeremiah Ledbetter (@leddy_55) and tight end Will Gragg (@W_Gragg7) as Arkansas’ early signees that will enroll January.

Arkansas finished the season at 7-6, its first winning football season since 2011. The Razorbacks had one of the best defenses in the nation, ranking No. 10 nationally in scoring defense (19.2 points per game allowed) and No. 11 in total defense (323.4 yards per game allowed).
