FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Houston Nutt and his Arkansas Razorbacks began preparations for their SEC West title game with an indoor practice in cold conditions on Tuesday. The practice inside Walker Pavilion was an attempt to get as much accomplished as possible.
Nutt looked ahead to this Friday’s game and commented on LSU.
“LSU has a great football team,” Nutt said. “They’re great on both sides of the ball, great skill, great lineman, great speed, and great special teams – it’s no secret. On defense they don’t give up very much; that’s why they’re second or third in the country. There is a reason why they’re the defending SEC champions and we have an awesome opportunity and this is just the first day.”
Nutt commented on the short week of preparation following a physical game against Mississippi State.
“It’s hard to be physical when you have that many injuries,” Nutt said. “It’s hard to come back here and start hitting. You’re going on your tenth straight week of football, so they ought to be all right.”
The Razorbacks will kickoff against the LSU Tigers on Friday in the annual Battle of the Boot. A CBS televised kickoff is set for 1:30 pm at Little Rock’s War Memorial Stadium.
