Razorbacks to Face Tigers

AUBURN, Ala.- The Arkansas volleyball team will face Auburn Sunday afternoon in the second of a three-match road stretch. The Hogs are 10-10 (4-6 SEC) while the Tigers are 9-11 (2-8 SEC).

All-Time Series vs Auburn

Sunday’s match at Auburn will be the 48th meeting between the two teams, with Auburn holding a large 24-10 series advantage. In the last six matches, the series is split 3-3. The Hogs won the last meeting against the Tigers last season, with Auburn taking the first match of the year. This will be the only time that the Tigers and Razorbacks will face each other this season.

Last Time Out

Arkansas earned a road-sweep at Mississippi State Wednesday night, its second sweep in a week. Sophomore Hailey Dirrigl had a standout match, recording 10 kills and 17 points from the service line. The Hogs’ .317 hitting percentage was the highest the team has seen since its last match against Mississippi State earlier this month.

Where They Rank

Through the first half of SEC play, the Hogs sit in eighth place in the conference standings. Sophomore Hailey Dirrigl comes in at No. 7 in kills/set, averaging 3.54 with 237 this season. Junior Rachel Rippee is sixth with 8.83 assists/set, recording 618 in 19 matches. Freshman Lauren Evans’ 0.36 aces/set are sixth in the SEC while senior Okiana Valle is at the top of the league with 5.08 digs/set.

Conference Honors

Okiana Valle was named SEC Co-Defensive Player of the Week following an impressive performance last week. Valle helped lead the Hogs to a sweep of the Gamecocks last Wednesday, a team who was 60+ points higher than Arkansas in the RPI. She recorded three service aces against the Gamecocks, setting a season-high for aces in a match. The senior also had an impressive 13 points from the service line over South Carolina.

The match will be streamed on the SEC Network+. First serve against the Tigers is set for 1:30 p.m.
