About ITA Kick-Off Weekend
The ninth annual ITA Kick-Off Weekend takes place Jan. 27-29, at 23 different Division I tennis facilities across the country. In all, there are 60 teams competing per gender in the weekend’s events. There are 15 regionals played on both the men’s and women’s side, with four teams competing in each regional. The winners of the single-elimination event advance to next month’s ITA Division I National Team Indoor Championships. Yale (women’s) and Virginia (men’s) will serve as hosts for the National Team Indoors.

Quotable
“We are excited to get out to California and compete against some quality opposition,” head coach Michael Hegarty said. “We have traditionally played well out west and are ready for the challenge.”

Last Time Out
Arkansas opened its spring season with wins over Saint Louis and Southern Illinois on Jan. 21. The Razorbacks defeated the Billikens 7-0, before beating the Salukis 6-1. Both matches were played at St. Clair Tennis Club in O’Fallon, Illinois. Arkansas won the doubles point in both matches and never looked back in either contest, claiming 11 of 12 singles matches. Most notably, freshman Natsuho Arakawa and sophomore Agne Cepelyte both won all four matches they played.
