Razorbacks Wrap Up Road Schedule At Ole Miss

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The Arkansas men’s tennis team will conclude it’s 2017 road schedule with its third straight match away from home on Friday at 1 p.m. against the Ole Miss Rebels at the Palmer/Salloum Tennis Center.

Last week, the Razorbacks (13-10, 4-5 SEC) split a pair of road SEC bouts, defeating the LSU Tigers 4-3 on Friday before falling to No. 7 Texas A&M 4-0 on Sunday.

The duo of Mike Redlicki and Jose Salazar rose 24 spots in this week’s Oracle/ITA rankings to No. 13 after defeating Jordan Daigle and Justin Butsch of LSU 7-6 (0-4). At the No. 1 doubles spot against Texas A&M, Redlicki and Salazar led 6-5 against the Aggies’ AJ Catanzariti and Arthur Rinderknech before play was suspended at the clinch.

Redlicki jumped to No. 9 in singles after knocking off LSU’s 44th-ranked Daigle 6-4, 6-4. Against A&M, play ended before Redlicki could finish his singles match with No. 12 Arthur Rinderknech. Holding a 49-15 singles career record at Arkansas, the senior is looking for his 50th career singles win on Friday.

Salazar split a pair of matches against ranked opponents to move to 5-1 this spring against ranked foes, defeating No. 56 Butsch 6-3, 6-2 from LSU, before falling to No. 119 Jordi Arconada 6-4, 6-3 of A&M. Salazar holds a 5-1 record away from home this season, including a 4-1 mark against SEC opponents.

The Rebels have one ranked singles player in No. 33 Gustav Hansson and one ranked doubles pairing in No. 21 Trevor Foshey and Niclas Braun.

Arkansas will conclude the regular season next week, returning home to face the No. 23 Kentucky Wildcats on Friday, April 14th at 6 p.m. and the Vanderbilt Commodores on Sunday, April 16th at 1 p.m.
