Razorbacks back at Bud Walton

The Razorback men’s basketball team got back to winning on Saturday when they took down Mississippi Valley State at Bud Walton Arena and now welcome Delaware State to Bud Walton Arena for their final contest before a eight-day break for finals. The Razorbacks and Hornets are set for a 7 p.m. tip.

Arkansas (3-5) eclipsed the 90-point plateau for the third time this season on Saturday, getting back to its strong offensive production. The Hogs tallied the score despite just five points from leading scorer Rotnei Clarke as four Razorbacks tallied double figures and senior Stef Welsh notched a season best 15 points. The friendly confines of Bud Walton saw Arkansas shoot 51.6 percent from the floor, 42.1 percent from three and a near season best 70.8 percent from the free throw line.

Delaware State (4-2) is coming off a conference-opening loss to Maryland-Eastern Shore, 53-50. A tough day of shooting by both sides in the opening half, the teams picked up the scoring in the second 20 minutes, but the Hornets, who held a seven-point lead at the break, were outscored by 10 leading to their downfall. Frisco Sandridge and Marcus Neal led Delaware State in the game and Sandridge is by far the statistical leader on the court averaging 14.5 points and 6.8 rebounds per game.

The Arkansas-Delaware State game can be heard on radio across the state of Arkansas on the Razorback Sports Network with Mike Nail and Rick Schaeffer giving the calls. Nail is in his 29th and final season as the play-by-play voice of the Razorbacks.

Looking past the Delaware State contest, Arkansas takes an eight-day break for finals before returning to Bud Walton Arena for its next game against Alabama State on Wednesday, Dec. 16.
