WAYZATA, Minn.-Round two of the Gopher Invitational proved to be a much better day for the University of Arkansas men’s golf team, bettering the previous day’s score by 19 strokes finishing with a 286 on Saturday.
“Even after 2 triple bogies on the ninth hole, which is kind of rare, we finished well,” head coach Brad McMakin said of his team’s improvement.
Individually, Senior Andrew Landry shot a three under 69, David Lingmerth and Allen McFerrin, both posted two under with 70, Samuel Chavez finished 5-over, and Ethan Tracy ended with 6-over. Landry and Lingmerth are tied for tenth place.
The Razorbacks are only 2 strokes off the three-way tie for fifth place.
The final round of play begins at 8:00 on Sunday, which is set to be cold and windy.
