Razorbacks continue to work hard

FAYETTEVILLE – The Razorback football team continued to install its game plan and work hard on the practice fields behind Donald W. Reynolds Razorback Stadium on Wednesday as it began to fine tune its plan of attack for Saturday’s game with eighth-ranked Texas.

After a day of installing the game plan, the Razorbacks worked on the finishing touches on Wednesday as it continues its preparations.

“The last two days have been really good,” Arkansas defensive coordinator Willy Robinson said. “It’s been fun coming out. They are really pushing themselves.”

Texas is one of the nation’s top ranked teams and Robinson knows that his defense is going to have its hands full when it lines up across from the offense at Darrell K Royal Texas Memorial Stadium.

“They’re awfully good,” Robinson said. “They’re big, they’re huge, they’re fast, they’re efficient, and they’re in sync. They are Texas; they’re a good football team.”

In Arkansas’ favor as it prepares for Texas is the fact that several players are returning to the lineup including linebackers Elston Forte and Wendel Davis. The players should not just help Arkansas’ depth but add fresh legs to the defensive lineup.

“We’re extremely happy (to have them back),” Robinson said. “Now all of a sudden our numbers are coming back to us and we are fortunate not to lose a lot of people so we are very happy. A little growth in practice because we haven’t played many reps, but we are running fast and looking good, we’re trying to play hard, we’re extremely happy about that.”

One of the questions that the media had for Robinson surrounded the status of Saturday’s game which is currently scheduled to kickoff at 2:300 p.m. central with television coverage on ABC.

“You approach it like you are playing,” Robinson said. “You can’t take any other approach. We don’t control what the people up above us say. You just have to go out there and perform and tomorrow’s practice is one where we are preparing to play on Saturday. That’s the only way we can look at it. None of us on the team whether it’s the players or the coaches are even thinking that it isn’t going to be there. We are preparing as if we are playing on Saturday.”
