NORMAN, Okla – The University of Arkansas soccer team defeated Oklahoma, 3-0, in Saturday’s spring game. It marked the third spring game of the season for the Razorbacks.
The Razorbacks got on the board as a ball from Claire Kelley was played back to Rachel Riggs in the box who scored for the first goal of the game.
A cross from Alexandra Fischer to Ashleigh Ellenwood would give Ellenwood the goal and extend Arkansas’ lead to 2-0. For the third and final goal of the game, Tyler Allen scored off a pass from Ellenwood to give the Razorbacks a 3-0 lead, which would stand as the final score.
Riggs, Ellenwood and Allen earned the goals on the day, while Ellenwood and Fischer each picked up an assist.
“It was a good team performance,” said Head Coach Colby Hale. “Our work in group defending was good. It was good for our backs to get the shutout and we scored three nice goals. Overall, we got better today.”
The Razorbacks will wrap up the spring season with their final game against Missouri State on Thursday, April 10. The Razorbacks and Bears will face off at Razorback Field at 7 p.m.
