Razorbacks excited for visit to MSU

FAYETTEVILLE – The University of Arkansas football team finished its full workouts Thursday inside Donald W. Reynolds Razorback Stadium in preparation for its trip to Mississippi State on Saturday. The 13th-ranked Razorbacks (8-2, 4-2, SEC) will face the 22nd-ranked Bulldogs (7-3, 3-3, SEC) inside Davis Wade Stadium in Starkville, Miss., at 6 p.m. on ESPN.

Head coach Bobby Petrino admitted that the Razorback-Bulldog matchup had the makings to be an intense game between the two Southeastern Conference Western Division foes.

"They’ve got a great crowd," Coach Petrino said. "This is a big game. They’ve got a very good record. We’ve got a good record. They are a good football team. We feel like we are a good football team. It should be a really good battle."

Coach Petrino made note that the Razorback squad’s leadership has been stellar throughout the 2010 season.

"Our seniors and our other players on the team that lead do a great job each week of coming to practice, coming to work with a positive attitude," Coach Petrino said. "When you’ve got a positive attitude and a good work ethic, you’re going to get a lot accomplished, and I think we’ve done that."

As the team prepares to travel to Mississippi State and go through its normal procedures of team meetings and walk-throughs leading up to Saturday’s kickoff, Coach Petrino added that the UA team is working with an extra spark.

"Our guys are excited," Coach Petrino said. "We’re really focused and have a lot of energy."
