Razorbacks finish 24th in CSCAA poll

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark.- The Arkansas swimming and diving team finished 24th in the final poll released by the College Swimming Coaches Association of America poll on Tuesday.

The Razorbacks finished the 2011 dual season 9-2 overall and 2-1 in the Southeastern Conference. Arkansas topped South Carolina and Vanderbilt in the dual season, but fell to Tennessee in the fall.

At the 2011 edition of the SEC Championships, the Razorbacks finished eighth overall with 210 points. UA was ahead of Vanderbilt and Alabama after the seven days of competition.

Georgia won its second consecutive SEC title in February and sits first in the coaches’ poll. Stanford dropped back to second in the final poll after sitting at the top of every previous poll this season. The Razorbacks are one of six SEC teams in the top-25 rankings.

Arkansas heads to the NCAA Zone D Diving Championships in Austin, Texas, March 11-13. The three Razorback divers have their final chance to earn a spot at the 2011 NCAA Championships also held in Austin.
