Razorbacks go west

PALO ATLO, Calif. — The No. 35 University of Arkansas women’s golf team traveled west to Palo Alto, Calif., for the first of two practice rounds Tuesday for the 2010 NCAA West Women’s Golf Regional hosted by Stanford University this week.

Arkansas will practice again on Wednesday before the first round of the three-day event on Thursday. Here are a couple more facts about this week’s event.

The Tournament: NCAA Division I Women’s Golf West Regional, hosted by Stanford University.

Dates: May 6-8, 2010

Course: Stanford Golf Course (6,103 yards; par 71).

The Field: Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado State, Idaho, Iowa State, Louisiana State, Maryland, Ohio State, Oral Roberts, Penn, Portland State, San Francisco, San Jose State, Stanford, Texas, Texas A&M, Texas State, UC Davis, UC Irvine, UCLA, UNLV, Virginia.

Individuals: Amy Anderson (North Dakota State), Teresa Puga (Minnesota) and Ellen Mueller (Oklahoma) will be competing as individuals in the event.

Starting Times: Teams will tee off on holes No. 1 and No. 10 all three days beginning at 8:00 a.m. The last tee time is scheduled for 2:09 p.m. on Thursday and Saturday and 2:11 p.m. on Friday. Teams will play 18 holes each day.
