Razorbacks host Arkansas Invitational

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The University of Arkansas volleyball team returns to the court Friday hosting the Arkansas Invitational in Barnhill Arena Friday and Saturday. Arkansas (1-6) is fresh off a valiant battle with Tulsa Wednesday that stretched five sets and saw the Razorbacks play their best volleyball of the season. The team takes part in the home tournament as the final tune-up before beginning Southeastern Conference play. “I’m excited about our tournament,” said Arkansas head coach Robert Pulliza. “It’s good to be a home and I think the teams this weekend will give us several different looks. This is a good final weekend before we head into SEC play at Auburn next week.” Tournament play begins at noon Friday when Lamar meets Tennessee-Martin. UTM returns to the court at 5 p.m. facing Virginia Tech and Arkansas takes part in its tournament opener at 7 p.m. against Lamar. Action continues Saturday at noon when the Razorbacks host Tennessee-Martin. Virginia Tech and Lamar square off at 2 p.m. followed by the final match between Arkansas and Virginia Tech at 7 p.m. The Razorbacks begin SEC play at Auburn Sept. 19, followed by a home series with Florida and South Carolina Sept. 26 and 28, respectively.
