Razorbacks host No. 5 Gators

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The University of Arkansas volleyball team continues Southeastern Conference play hosting fifth-ranked Florida in Barnhill Arena Sunday at 1 p.m.

Arkansas (7-5) opened SEC play with a three-set win over South Carolina Friday. The Gators (7-1, 1-0 SEC) also opened with a win in five sets at Ole Miss in Oxford, Miss.

"Florida is a very good team, no doubt about it," said Arkansas head coach Robert Pulliza. "They are disciplined and experienced but we’ve been doing some good things in practice and in the match Friday and I’m excited to get back out on the court."

Arkansas’ win over South Carolina was the most convincing SEC win in two seasons under Pulliza. The Razorbacks were balanced with two players in double-digit kills led by freshman Jasmine Norton with 17. Freshman Amanda Anderson added 11.

Arkansas won every statistical battle in Friday’s match and posted 77 digs in a defensive clinic.

The Razorbacks hit the road as the SEC slate continues after this weekend. Arkansas travels to Tennessee Sept. 25, Kentucky Sept. 27, Georgia Oct. 2 and Auburn Oct. 4, before returning home Oct. 9 with Alabama.
