FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The Arkansas men’s golf team finished Monday’s first and second rounds of the UNCG Bridgestone Collegiate Championship in 12th place. The Razorbacks shot a 16-over-par 592 at the Forest Oak Country Club in Greensboro, N.C. After struggling in the first round with a 16-over 304 team score, Arkansas fired an even-par 288 in the second round.
Junior Andrew Landry positioned himself in the top 10 with an even-par 72 in both rounds. He is tied for ninth place with three other golfers at 144. Jason Turner has a share of 13th place after a two-under-par 70 in the second round.
David Lingmerth rebounded from an opening-round 79 to card a two-under-par 70 in the second round. He is tied for 39th place overall with a five-over-par 149 total. With his second-round score, Lingmerth moved up 29 spots on the individual leaderboard.
Making his first career appearance, freshman Sam Chavez posted a 10-over-par 154 during the first two rounds of play. He is tied for 62nd place. Senior Barrett Lais is the fifth UA golfer on the board with a 13-over-par 157 and is in 75th place.
North Carolina is the team leader at four over par after the first two rounds. Louisville’s Derek Fathauer is in first place on the individual leaderboard heading into the final round with a six-under-par 138.
