FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – For the first time in University of Arkansas athletics history the Razorbacks are launching the ‘Razorback Social Media Summer Challenge.’ The Summer Challenge will encourage fans to participate in creative initiatives to boost the profile of the official Razorback Facebook and Twitter accounts and engage the ever-growing fan base.
Fans will be rewarded as the Arkansas Facebook and Twitter accounts reach specific benchmarks. The first reward will come when the Razorback Facebook page reaches 380,000 ‘likes’ and 10 signed Bret Bielema pictures will be randomly distributed. An apitional 10 signed Bret Bielema photos will be distributed as the Razorbacks Twitter (@ArkRazorbacks) reaches 50,000 followers. The next benchmark of prizes will be revealed after the first level is completed. Fans can track progress on ArkansasRazorbacks.com/SummerChallenge.
To go along with the summer challenge, there will be daily social media initiatives for fans to participate in starting on Monday, July 15th. Have you ever thought the Razorback mascot would look perfect peering over Mona Lisa’s shoulder? Or maybe you feel Big Red should have been with the astronauts on the moon. Whatever the case, we highly encourage Razorback fans to be as creative as possible on Mascot Monday by inserting one of the Razorback mascot into famous works of art or photos.
On Trivia Tuesday, fans can test their endless Razorback knowledge by answering trivia questions that will be posted on Twitter and Facebook. For fans just itching to change their profile picture or graphic on Facebook, your wish will be granted with Wallpaper Wednesday. Each Wednesday, Razorback Athletics will release unique weekly computer wallpapers for fans to show their Razorback pride at home or work.
The excitement continues on Thursday as we ask fans to hop into the DeLorean time machine and tweet old photos of themselves in Razorback gear to @ArkRazorbacks for Throwback Thursday (#TBT).
To cap off the busy week we are looking forward to Big Red Friday. No we aren’t talking about the tasty cinnamon flavored gum or even our mascot, but we want to see Razorback fans donning our new official Never Yield T-shirt. If you send in a photo of yourself or someone in the Never Yield T-shirt we will display it on our Facebook page in a photo gallery. You can tweet photos to the official Razorback Twitter account (@ArkRazorbacks) or email photos to NeverYieldPhotos@gmail.com.
The social media challenge will run throughout the summer and until multiple benchmarks are reached.&
