FAYETTEVILLE — University of Arkansas women’s golf team was presented with a replica trophy celebrating sophomore Emily Tubert’s 2010 win at the USGA Women’s Public Links Championship this week. Tubert, a Burbank, Calif., native, is leading the Razorbacks into action this week at the 2012 Southeastern Conference Championship at Blesssings Golf Course in Johnson, Ark. The trophy was presented to Razorback women’s golf program recognizing Tubert’s 2010 USGA National Public Links title. She is the first female golfer from the University of Arkansas to win a national USGA event. After her win in 2010, Tubert was allowed to keep the original trophy for one year and then passed it on to the next winner. The replica is a 90% scale version of the same trophy built in London, England, by a silversmith. It was donated to the women’s golf program by several individuals some of whom where on hand for the presention. Tubert and the Razorbacks tee off at 9:20 a.m. from the 12th tee Friday beginning postseason play.
