FAYETTEVILLE – The University of Arkansas football team finished its week of full practices Thursday in preparation for its weekend contest with ULM in Little Rock, Ark. The Razorbacks practiced inside the Walker Pavilion before finishing drills under the welcomed sunlight inside Donald W. Reynolds Razorback Stadium. Head coach Bobby Petrino will lead his 14th-ranked squad into action Saturday and is certain the UA team is prepared for the Warhawks.
"We’re in good shape," said Coach Petrino, in his third season at Arkansas. "I feel like we need to do a good job from now and up until the game to get ready and emotionally prepared to play. We’ll go down and take care of business like we need to in Little Rock."
The Razorback squad, coming off its opening-weekend victory over Tennessee Tech, 44-3, will take to War Memorial Stadium Friday afternoon for its normal home game preparations, Coach Petrino noted.
"We’ll have our meetings in the afternoon," Coach Petrino said. "Then we’ll go over to the stadium to do our walk-through and have our normal Friday."
With Arkansas already holding one victory under its belt, Coach Petrino explained the extra focus it takes to prepare for the ULM squad. The Warhawks had an off weekend to start the 2010 season.
"They have the same defensive coordinator," Coach Petrino said. "We’ve been working the video from last year. I’m sure they will do something different that we haven’t seen. We have to do a good job of running the ball against them and playing catch."
UA kicks off against ULM at 6 p.m. Saturday, with the matchup airing on FSN. For more information on Razorback football, please visit ArkansasRazorbacks.com.
